Future Battlefield Heroes Site
We are not going to lie to you. It does concern us that the future Battlefield Heroes website will have profiles, etc just as we have here on BFHeroes.org. Probably the main difference is that your profile will acutally be that of your characters and not as you...at least that is what we think.
" We’ve been describing it as it’s basically like Facebook. It’s a social hub with news that’s not just ‘hey, there’s a new patch out’ or a new update, it’s ‘there’s this new clan being formed’ or there’s an event happening. Proper community updates rather than ‘patch 2.43 will hit’, you visit the site every six months and there’s one more piece of news, it should be that you go once a week and there’s something cool or new happening. And along with that there’ll be your friends list, you can go and send messages as there’s a messaging system on there. I could go look at your profile and on your profile page see the missions you’ve completed, the awards you’ve gained, have a look at your actual soldier and the different items you’ve got. It’s much more of an alive community than we’ve had. " James Salt - source: http://blog.totalpcgaming.com/?p=6
" On the web site you have a picture of your soldier and a map of a bunch of landmasses, you plonk him down in one of the countries on there and as you fight the score you gain goes into the pot for that country. And then once a certain threshold is reached that belongs to your faction. And everyone’s trying that for all the different countries – there’s 16 currently – and at the end of a week of play time, depending on the balance, we’ll pay out some of the in-game currency. So just by playing you can kind of have – if you’re interested in it – this high-level strategic game in terms of trying to take over all the territory, or you can just not bother at all. It’s like a game outside of the game, you have your short-term goal in the game of winning the round or killing someone, then you have another goal of levelling up the character and getting up to level 15 and unlocking an ability. We are unsure whether customization will be made in browser, or in game. There is a picture of a gun in the browser shot but whether that is an unlock or a purchase is unsure.
