Well, this is what I've heard from around here, but the translators seem capable of translating stuff, the problem is the proofreaders who will then rewrite shit and add memes, jokes and the like to scenes that previously did not have any.
Apparently one of the translators is absolutely ashamed by the things she is forced to translate for NISA however, so personality wise, doesn't seem like the best of people to have on a team when she essentially hates what she's translating.
The problem are the proofreaders and the programmers.

NISA was formed in 2003 by NIS in order to reap more profits after success of Disgaea which was localized by Atlus USA, they had handled a couple titles in the past but didn't get anywhere near the success of Disgaea. Their original goal was to provide a better service by keeping the localized product close to the japanese counterpart in terms of translation accuracy and even including the original voice track the game was done in.
This went completely out the window the moment they got contracts from other companies. The lack of quality assurance resulted in bugs exclusive to the western release of games on top of massive liberties being taken on scripts and some text boxes being completely blank which eventually bled into games from the parent company. There have also been massive layoffs and replacements not only of the US branch but in the Japan branch, the japanese employees have been found freelancing or working for NIS rivals.
Bueno y etc etc. eso sin contar con la lista de fuckups, juego por juego, que van copiando en cada hilo lol. Gran compañía y mejores localizaciones.
