Bueno, yo soy mas de CS, pero me dispuse a instalar el juego, y cuando voy a entrar a la partida, me salta este error:

Ahora en serio, ami ese error me lo da con el L4D, antes con los drivers de mi nvidia 7600GS iba bien pero al salirme el error actualize y sigue dandolo, he probao lo de el DX80 y 81 y nada. Lo unico q me funciono fue reinstalar steam y todos los juegos, y ese dia fue, pero al siguiente otra vez el error. Si alguno sabe algo del tema q eche una mano(os veo las intenciones con la ultima frase

This error commonly occurs with only the following ATI graphics cards:
Radeon X300
Radeon X700
Radeon X800
Radeon 9###
Before updating your drivers, please visit Windows Update and make sure that you have all of the critical updates and the .NET framework installed.
If you get a Failed to create D3D device error and are using any of the above ATI Cards, please update your drivers to the latest version of Catalyst by visiting the ATI driver page.
If you use a Nvidia or any other type of video card, please visit the manufacturer's website for the latest video card drivers.
If the crash persists, set the following launch option:
Go to Steam's My games menu.
Right-click on the affected game.
Go to Properties > General > Set launch options...
Type in -dxlevel 80.
Click OK.
Note: if you are attempting to play Team Fortress 2, Portal or Half-Life 2: Episode Two, you must set your launch option to -dxlevel 81 instead.
En Resumen...que actualiceis los Drivers, y si el error sigue que cambieis las opciones de Lanzamiento a Direct 8.0

Eso es exactamente lo que he escrito en #3, q esas soluciones no me van, que si sabeis por q puede ser o como se soluciona. Probe aumentando la cache pool, q es la memoria virtual.
Na lo que voy a hacer es directamente formatear, y sino funciona lo meto fuego y lo tiro por la ventana.
a mi me pasa eso amenudo, y no se me soluciona reinstalando drivers, cambiando el dxlevel ni nada, lo que hago es si me pasa abro el juego unas 10 veces hasta que funcione
otra solucion es cerrar y abrir steam, esta suele funcionar mucho
y la definitiva : reiniciar el pc, no falla xD, tienes unas 2 horas sin errores
PD : ni formateando se soluciona eso, es un fallo del motor source me da... porque en el resto de juegos no me pasa

Also. I'm not sure if anyone on whom it may depend will ever read this complaint, but it's kinda inhumane to give such long URLs on a dialog box, so you can't copy the URL and have to type it...
Así que probad éstas 2 opciones. Vais a las opciones de Lanzamiento y poneis: -d3d y marcais la resolucion a la que jugais o quereis el juego: -h 1280 -w 800" (los numeros claro está..los que useis de resolucion, eso lo veis en las opciones de Video)
Probad a ver.
Por lo que leí por los foros de steam es un fallo en el modo -fullscreen. Así que en las opciones se marca en modo Ventana y debe ir.
El tema es por que antes no os pasaba y ahora si?, ahí la cuestión...y claro, esperar la solución por parte de Valve es esperar demasiado XD.
Mejor eso a reiniciar el PC y tal, por que tarda su tiempo, al menos hasta que arreglen el Bug.
