Coach Brandon “Saintvicious” Dimarco expanded on Coach Cop’s thoughts. “Competition is good. It helps our players to stay sharp, focused, and working hard. We will look for the best combination of players to take our team to a higher level.”
Having recently defeated Team SoloMid, Team Dignitas is currently tied for first place in the NA LCS with three wins and one loss. Team Dignitas faces Phoenix1 on Saturday June 17th at 3pm PT, followed by Echo Fox at 3pm PT on Sunday.
In September 2016, the Philadelphia 76ers acquired a controlling interest in eSports heritage team, Team Dignitas, which it fused with rising League of Legends powerhouse, Team Apex. This marked the first time an ownership group of a North American sports franchise acquired an eSports team. Team Dignitas currently fields five teams in four of eSports’ largest and most popular games: League of Legends, Counter Strike: Global Offensive, Heroes of the Storm and Smite. The Sixers utilize their business expertise, vast resources and connections, and focus on sports science’s best practices from across professional sports to bring alignment to the team’s business operations, advance corporate partnerships and create industry-leading eSports player development and wellness initiatives.
