After the cancelling of IEM Guangzhou, the official start of the 7th Intel Extreme Masters season will be at Singapore, with eight of the worlds best League of Legends teams taking each other on for a $32,000 USD prize pool and a spot at the Intel Extreme Masters World Championships in Hannover. Reigning champion Moscow 5 will not be participating at the tournament due to travel obligations in China, but that does not change anything about the status of the line-up. We will see community favorite Counter Logic Gaming Prime take on the strong Chinese Invictus Gaming, who beat the superstars of CLG at the Season Two World Championships, will we experience a deja-vu during IEM Singapore?
We will find out throughout the 22nd-25th of November, when IEM Singapore is held at SITEX 2012, an EXPO like Gamescom, but then in Singapore. Your casters will be Joe “Joe Miller” Miller, Carlos “Ocelote” Rodriguez, Jason “ButButButILY” Kaplan and the best commentator in the world, Leigh “Deman” Smith. Teams will be divided into two groups of four, with the top two teams advancing to the single elimination play-offs bracket. Just like with DreamHack Winter 2012, group stage matches are Best of One, and play-offs games are Best of Three. KT Rolster B and Azubu Blaze will not be participating at IEM Singapore due to schedule conflicts with OLYMPUS The Champions Winter 2012.
