Para mí uno de los que no hay que perderse del revival son The Faint. Tanto el primer disco Media, más "rock" diría yo, como los siguientes, bastante más electrónicos, me encantan.
Y del panorama español yo me quedo con Catpeople también, en un primer momento me parecieron demasiado parecidos a Interpol, pero cuanto más he escuchado ambos grupos creo que hay diferencias.
Gran post! Me voy a poner las botas a "comprar" discos. Me empecé a aficionar hace poco al estilo cuando me hicieron escuchar el Silent Alarm de Bloc Party.
Que grupos de todos estos me recomendais así movidillos como ellos, Franz Ferdinand o también Tokyo Police People
Si me refería al revival actual, el post-punk aun no me acaba de entrar la verdad.
Pues te he hecho caso 3eatle y de momento los que más me han gustado han sido The Killers, You Say Party! We Say Die!, Forward Russia! y Death From Above 1979, seguiré investigando.

El grupo que surgio de las cenizas de joy division y que marco a muchos otros grupos con una mezcla electronica con reminiscencias de la coldwave se separan segun declaraciones de Peter Hook (Copio y pego el boletin de myspace);
"New Order have split up, according to bassist Peter Hook.
As previously reported the band denied they were splitting earlier this year despite drummer Stephen Morris being quoted as saying: "We should stop for a while."
Speaking about his involvement in Perry Farrell's Satellite Party, Peter Hook told Xfm that the band have broken up.
He said: "I spoke to Perry, and he asked me to play bass, as he'd heard about New Order splitting up. Well yeah, me and Bernard (Sumner) aren't working together."
When asked if the split was permanent, he added: "Bernard went off for a break with Electronic, but that was different. But it's like the boy who cried wolf this time."

¿Sera definitivo? ¿Volveran? ¿Un buen momento para hacer una gira como joy division usando al cantante de OMD? (Cosa que se rumoreo hace tiempo..)
Supongo que todo tiene un principio y un fin ¿No? El fin da paso al principio: el fin de la vida de Ian Curtis dio paso a una de las bandas mas importantes por su influencia posterior a la musica actual. Y el fin de dicha banda dara paso a la leyenda.
PD: Hace bastante me pille una guia sobre el punk y la new wave. Me la compre con bastante desconfianza, pero despues de un tiempo a mi lado he aprendido a quererla como a mi madre. A todos los que os gusta esto os la recomiendo:

No sé si ya se habrá puesto, no lo vi por aquí, así que...
Acechando en RYM un grupo de noise/post-rock polaco que me gusta (Ścianka, btw) he visto que participan en un album tributo a Joy Division con bandas polacas titulado "Warszawa: Tribute to Joy Division" que sale este mes.
No creo que pase a la historia o que sea mejor que el "A Means To An End" -que tampoco me parecía la polla, todo hay que decirlo-, pero a lo mejor a alguien le interesa, principalmente porque los estilos que tocan son muy diversos y a lo mejor hay alguna sorpresa >_<

"A means to an end" no es ningun album es una cancion del disco "Closer" que supongo era el que querias decir

(www.neworderonline.com) A source close to the band told NewOrderOnline that the news about the split is false, New Order still exists despite what New Order's bassist said. Peter Hook can leave the band, but this doesn't mean the end of New Order.
We remind you that the claims of New Order's split originated from Peter Hook's blog on MySpace, apparently he didn't warn the rest of the band that were surprised about this news.
Joy division were Peter and Bernard's band initially, and becoming New order the band is truly democratif and have been treated as such,.
They are still a band but obviously things are being made increasingly difficult as Peter makes claims of a split.
The band is right now in Cannes for the premier of the biopic Control about the life of Ian Curtis.
