Sean Schemmel (Goku) Talks About Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods English Dub
Sean Schemmel, the voice actor for Goku in FUNimation’s English dub of Dragon Ball Z, recently went on record to talk about the up-coming movie, Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods, which is scheduled to be released in Japanese theaters on March 30, 2013. Actually, he tweeted and said he has not yet heard anything about FUNimation dubbing the movie. He continues on to say that it doesn’t mean it won’t happen, it just means he hasn’t been contacted at this point in time.
As shown in the Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods Trailer, 20th Century Fox is playing a role in the movie, so it’s possible there may be a new and different cast. We at Saiyan Island certainly hope that’s not the case as FUNimation, Mr. Schemmel, and the rest of the English dub cast have done a world class job. It would be tough to top them!
Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods is the 18th movie in the Dragon Ball anime series. It will take place between Dragon Ball manga chapters 517 and 518, in the 10 year timeskip after Goku defeats Buu, but before the 28th World Martial Arts Tournament. Akira Toriyama along with Toei Animation, Fox International Productions Japan, Shueisha, Fuji TV, Bandai, and Namco Bandai Games are all involved. Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods is set to release in Japanese theaters March 30, 2013. There is no word on a North American or European release date at this time.
