CSP Maps Released Soon, New Addition to the Team
Today, CSP officially announces the beta release of CS:Source compatible versions of all its competitive Counter-Strike maps, produced by our diligent mapper, Mike "aTam" Mayea. The maps, csp_dust2, csp_inferno, csp_nuke, and csp_train, will be available for download on Monday, January 15th, 2007. All maps provide gameplay nearly identical to Counter-Strike 1.6 maps, while offering significant graphical updates and providing higher frame rates than those found in traditional CS:Source maps. The maps will be incorporated into the rotations for the Main and Professional divisions of CEVO Source Season 3, the world's most prestigious online competition for CS:Source (the Amateur division's map rotation will remain the same). We are optimistic that many other prolific eSports leagues and tournaments will also adopt the CSP maps.
We hope to have a beta version of the mod ready by the end of March.
This is a very exciting day for everyone on the CSP team, and we'd like to thank all of you in the community for your patience and support as we've gone through the various bumps and bruises that are to be expected along the road to successfully developing a competitive modification. We have always believed that CSP would be a successful project, and we think that as soon as you download the CSP map pack on January 15th, you'll start believing too. We still have much work to do, but the goal is in sight. Thanks again for your devotion and support.
