Mid laner Fabian "Febiven" Diepstraten has signed an agreement to re-join H2K Gaming following his departure from fellow European League Championship Series team Fnatic, sources close to the team and player tell ESPN.
Storylines heading into Dota 2's first major of the season
With the departure of the old vanguard ushering in a new age, the first Dota 2 Major of the season promises to thrill and excite.The deal was set to be announced Sunday but was barred by Fnatic, who intends to announce its roster on Dec. 1 at its BUNKR esports store in London, according to sources. Febiven's contract with Fnatic expired on Nov. 21.
Febiven initially left H2K in Dec. 2014 to join Fnatic after it qualified for the League Championship Series via the 2015 European LCS Promotion Tournament. He was then replaced on the H2K roster by former KT Rolster Bullets mid laner Ryu, who has competed with the team since.
The move to sign Febiven comes after H2K Gaming took third-fourth at the League of Legends World Championship following a loss to finalist Samsung Galaxy. Since that tournament, the team has re-signed its top laner Andrei "Odoamne" Pascu and jungler Marcin "Jankos" Jankowski, while simultaneously parting ways with Ryu and its two AD carries Konstantinos-Napoleon "FORG1VEN" Tzortziou and Aleš "Freeze" Kněžínek.
Fnatic declined to comment. H2K did not respond to a request for comment by the time of publication.
