The V-jump pages goes over a lot, and we'll get decent translations up as soon as possible.
A few bits until we have full translations. It mentions Agumon waiting for Taichi.
A quick read of the plot description does seem to say the new show is happening 'now' in 2020, talking about large scale networks in Tokyo, the digital world, etc.
A few key details (assuming I'm reading them correctly), is how Taichi stayed home alone to prepare to go to summer camp that weekend, but can't wait for Hikari any longer to go to Shibuya to do something. He seemingly hurrys there, and while helping a woman gets on a train car and it goes to the digital world and they meet their partner Digimon.
It looks like it is indeed a modern reboot, so it'll be interesting to see what gets done with that.
It is the year 2020. The Internet has become an integral part of peoples' everyday life. However, they don't know. Of the infinite world on the other side of the network, the Digital World. Of the Digimon living in it. A large-scale network disturbance is happening, centering on the greater Tokyo area. Traffic lights keep flashing arbitrarily, digital billboards keep glitching out. The news are reporting of cyberterrorist attacks.
The protagonist is Yagami Taichi, a fifth grader who lives in a tower block in inner Tokyo. To prepare for the summercamp on the weekend, he stayed home alone, while his mother and his little sister Hikari headed for Shibuya. However, they boarded a train that became unable to break.
Taichi rushes to Shibuya to save them, but just as he reaches the train station... a mysterious phenomenon occurs, and Taichi ends up in the Digital World! The children meet their partner digimon, and face an ADVENTURE of the unknown!"
